Her story
Why Jeanne tutors dyslexic children
Jeanne is a K–8 credentialed teacher. She holds a California Professional Clear CLAD K–8 multiple-subject teaching credential and a Master’s in Teaching, with many years of classroom experience spanning every grade level through junior high.
Almost two years after she began tutoring, Jeanne received a call from a worried, frantic parent whose daughter had just been diagnosed with dyslexia. Wanting to truly help, she researched, studied, trained, and ultimately earned her certification in the Barton Reading and Spelling System.
Jeanne understands that dyslexic children are grossly under-served in their schools. Her heart grows in leaps and bounds as she watches struggling readers begin to thrive — in person and online — when they’re finally taught the way they learn.
As the parent of four grown children — her youngest has Asperger’s Syndrome — and grandmother to four, she brings deep, lived empathy to every family she works with.
